'Life On Land' - George West (2020)

Written and performed during the first UK lockdown in 2020, Life On Land explores the concept of "music for plants". The piece incorporates an excerpt from Plantasia by Mort Garson and asks the performer to talk to their plants whilst playing the music on a continuous loop. This work is just one of many pieces that George West has created over the past 4 years, aiming to raise awareness and highlight the importance of the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals, which set out to tackle the global challenges we are currently facing. West created 17 pieces, 1 for each Sustainable Development Goal, as part of his major project at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
