'Circumvention' - Helena Bowen (2021)

Circumvention was an experimental event conceptualised and produced by Helena for her undergraduate final year project at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. 

​

Created in 2020 and premiered in Spring 2021, Circumvention was an exploration of collaboration during an era of extreme

isolation. Throughout the pandemic and subsequent lockdowns, creatives across the globe were forced to discover new ways to interact, produce and collaborate under intensely isolated conditions. Circumvention aimed to explore how five creatives could collaborate and produce an online, explorative performance event whilst under lockdown ruling. The result was an online performance hosted on the platform Gather.town incorporating live and pre-recorded material.
